Goin' Places Riding School is a hunt-seat equitation and show facility in the Portland, Oregon area offering private and group lessons, summer riding camps, and mentored horse-show opportunities.
The school offers a variety of exceptional horses from ponies to show hunters and takes students from beginner up through jumping 2'6" on the "A" show circuit.
Carolyn Goin, a highly-accomplished rider and "A" show competitor, created Goin' Places Riding School out of her life-long love for horses and her passion for teaching and touching the lives of young people.
Carolyn brings her student riders along with patience and a positive approach that builds confidence, self-esteem and a solid foundation of riding skills. Emphasis is on the rider's position, effectiveness of the aids and being in balance with the horse's movement. Exceptional care is taken of both horse and rider and safety is first and foremost in everything that is done.
Goin' Places Riding School offers private, semi-private, and group weekly lessons. Additional lessons, hacks, working student, and leasing opportunities are available by arrangement.
Our students compete in the Portland area "A" show circuit where they benefit greatly from Carolyn's one-on-one coaching, support and guidance while at the shows.
Our 2008 Show Schedule runs from March through early November, with show opportunities almost every weekend throughout the summer months.
